Artists timeline

Here some pics of a timeline I tried to do to have a better understanding of the artistics centers of Italy

In the same sense that the ancient Greeks have Corinthian, Doric and ionic styles, the culture of Islamic middle eastern countries have a rich history of its own, a timeline of evolution and milestones that depict a complex evolution of this art form. If music flourished in Central Europe and classical painting in Western Europe, the clues to see the art of these countries is the variety, complexity and richness of the stylistic and historical dimensions of the calligraphy. That is very much the limit of my appreciation, as my lack of knowledge set boundaries to my assessment as mere aesthetic opinion or contemplation.

Actually since I mention the Greeks, the Arabic letters have a tradition of proportion studies very much like the modulor of LeCorbusier, or other systems that use analogies to the human body or geometric figures, as you can see in the image below, to the right upper side, where you see the letter alif (a) inscribed in a circle and also defined by a succession of rhomb…

Money, binary codes and imagination

Codes. Encoding is usually used in movies for encrypting purposes, as something must be hidden or protected, but nevertheless somebody, somewhere, needs to have the key to its interpretation; otherwise it is useless and,of course,meaningless. But the most critical use of the code is, paradoxically, to facilitate the transmission of information, by altering or formatting information/data of different nature to be shared to a convention. It is then that code needs to be shared-or protected, and they need the network effect -maybe limited, maybe not- to be influential. It is this ability to unify content making it somehow homogeneous that gives code its power, like packing and unpacking your clothes so you can travel. Because encoded information can travel, move and flow more smoothly. And that marks the appeal of the code. Societies evaluate in practice the usefulness of the codes, and then adopt them.
